You Need A New Website If...

If You Don't Have One!

Ok, this one is obvious, we know. But if you have just started a business and you don't have a website, you need one right now. Don't order your business cards until you have at least an address on the web. Maybe you don't have a domain name registered yet. We can do it all for you. You are going to be tempted to fall for the ads that claim you can create your own website for free. Can you? Probably not. Many have tried and many have given up fast when they realize that nothing worth anything is free, and you still have to do all of the leg work.

If Your Website Isn't Mobile-Friendly or Tablet-Friendly

Mobile-friendly or tablet-friendly means your website is readable and easily navigated when viewed on devices smaller than your laptop or desktop screen. Mobile is here to stay. It isn't going away. Sixty percent of all web pages are read on mobile phones. If you haven't viewed your website on a smart phone such as an iPhone or Android or Microsoft phone, do it. If you have to pinch or zoom the text in order to read it, you need a new website. Older websites usually can't be retrofitted to conform to the small screens. But the good news is that you already have content (your message) and graphics and a navigation map, so you have a good start. If You Can't Make Changes to Your Website Yourself

As a site owner, you shouldn't have to pay your developer to make changes to your site content. Sure, there will be some aspects of your website that you may not want to mess with, but you should be able to edit your message yourself. All of our sites are built on Content Management Systems (CMS) that make it easy for you to edit your own content without having to know how to write code. Editing your own content translates to a cost savings for you. And when we publish your site, we give you personal training and a custom manual so you can learn how easy it is to make changes.

If Your Site Content is Stale or Links Are Broken

This is especially true for owners of small to mid-size businesses. Once your old web site was published, it became "out of sight, out of mind." You are too busy managing the day-to-day pressures of your business to pay attention to what visitors to your website experience. If you haven't looked at all of the main pages of your website lately, or if the text on your website hasn't changed in years, it's time to think about a new website. Stale content often means your website was built on a design that is not mobile ready, too. As to broken links, when a visitor clicks a link on your website and it goes nowhere or an error message appears, it's like saying to your site visitor, "Go away." If Your Site Lacks a Call to Action

Most of our clients are small to mid-size businesses. Most of our clients have a website so they can grow their business by attracting new prospects and customers. If your website doesn't compel an interested visitor into calling you or filling out a contact form, you could be missing out on a chance to win a new customer. The message of your home page should totally represent the bread and butter of your business so that the visitors know they are in the right place, and want to know more, want to engage with you. If People Who Don't Know You Can't Find You

If the major search engines can't find you, or if your website doesn't come up on page one or two (maybe page three or four or five) of search results pages, it's likely that the content of your website doesn't contain the words that web searchers are using in their search string. This is especially true if your business is in a niche local market without a zillion competitors. Content is king. It rules. And fresh, original, unique content is super king. The other reason could be that the background code (the meta data or Structured Data) of your site needs fixing. Google has strict, and ever-changing, rules about what Google wants to index. Your content and meta data or Structured Data must be unique, accurately spelled, grammatically correct, or people won't be able to find your website unless they know your site's internet address (URL).

If Your Competitors Outclass You

Check out the sites of your top three competitors. If their websites are head and shoulders better than yours, you need a new website. While you are looking at your competitors' sites, make a note of what you like and don't like about their sites. If You're Not Proud Of Your Site

Can you say you are proud of your website? When was the last time you thought, "I'm going to visit my website right now because I'm just so darn proud of it." Or when was the last time you handed your business card to someone and thought, "I hope this person doesn't visit my website on their phone." If you aren't shamelessly, button-popping proud of your website, you definitely deserve a new one.
